Behind the Voice
Beyond the Music
Ysabel Bain (born December 30, 1997) is an English singer and songwriter.
Born in London, she attended university at BIMM Brighton where she studied vocals and songwriting, emerging in the music scene in 2017 with her debut single "Shame", before going on to release several more singles throughout 2018.
2019 started out with a bang for the young artist, as she headlined her debut gig at the sold-out Komedia venue.
"I think it was important for me to wait for this event." Ysabel said when asked about the gig, "We could have started with lots of live events, but then you wouldn't have built this anticipation. The wait is what makes it that much more rewarding."
Using her motto "speak my mind" as a weapon of honesty, Ysabel is bringing the art of storytelling to life in its most relatable form.
With deep roots in Gospel and Soul (and a voice that brings a familiar warmth), Ysabel's sound has been linked with artists such as Lianne La Havas, Eryn Allen Kane, H.E.R. and Alicia Keys. Her ability to take day-to-day stories and turn them into broken fairytales draws people into her world, and her continued collaborations with musicians of various genres bring her music a fresh edge.
Having headlined a sold-out show at Komedia Brighton, being featured on BBC Introducing and showcased on Top Indie 39 Blog, Ysabel Bain is proving to be one to watch.
Inspired by the movie, her most recent single Blade Runner immerses you in a world of lost hope and fills you with a yearning for the dreams you once had.
Going into 2020, Ysabel has been releasing live music videos via her YouTube page.
"There's a lot more coming" the artist says, "I've got the next project ready to go. You just have to be willing to wait for it . . ."
